Built a data-driven map for an NPR story on rising home-insurance costs in the Midwest, cleaning and structuring geographic insurance data to show how hail and severe convective storms are driving affordability pressures far from the coasts. Joined the data to U.S. map geometries in NPR’s D3-based graphics pipeline, then designed the final choropleth and legend to make a complex climate-and-insurance story legible at a glance.
