Built an intensely detailed county-level interactive map showing where homeowners insurance nonrenewal rates have risen most sharply between 2018 and 2023. I cleaned and structured the dataset around county FIPS codes, joined it to U.S. county geometries, and developed the final choropleth in NPR’s graphics rig with custom legends, responsive tooltips, and sparse-data handling to show how climate-driven disasters are destabilizing insurance markets across the country.
